Class Of 2015

Bang in summer and off on our jollies..

But, we couldn’t leave until we had a little chat about the Class of 2015..

Over the years at Friends Corner we have watched many a kid bloom.

This year, our Class of 2015 grew into a forest of amazement.

We’ll be saying goodbye to those who are moving on to ‘big school’, and we’ll be welcoming back those who will make up the ‘Class of 2016′ on their return in September.

Here, I’d like to pay homage to these wonderful little people who have blessed our Clubhouse, and our lives, this past school year.

Fay, Phoebe, Emilia, Odyssea, Elli, Kyriakos, our two Stamatis’, Ben, Leonidas, Angelos, Isaiah, and three sets of siblings; Nikos & Maya, Thomas & Alice, and Thanos & Konstantinos, have all graced our premises over the year, and have enjoyed interacting with the ‘everyday’ kids who make up the Class of 2015.

Older and younger siblings of the Friends Corner little ones also add to the beauty of the place when they visit, so a deserved ‘shout-out’ to Leon, Maisie, Iasona, Nelly, Maya, Yasmin, Marylou, Joseph and Soffia – Thanks for brightening up the Clubhouse and inspiring us with your uniqueness.

And, that Class of 2015 I was telling you about.. ..where do I begin..

I’ll start with Little J, whose beautiful curls are as wild and free as his energy ..and his appetite!

Running around, he passes Aristotelis who, on his bike, is beaming away. A beautiful smile that can light up a million rooms.

Costis is not far behind, he’ll lovingly serve you the best playdough pancakes you ever did see.

Beside him in the play kitchen, you’ll find Bella, holding on to the counter top – proud – as she prepares to take her first steps.

In the ‘grown-up’ kitchen, fiery and independent Danae is hanging out and, at just two years old, she can squeeze you an orange juice and peel you a boiled egg.

Ioli’s singing away through Song Time. She loves to dance and sing.. and smile.

Sweet, special Myrto is there too. Clapping her hands to the rhythm. A truly beautiful soul.

Little Nikos is kicking a ball. Our fair-play footballer in the making. Petros is beside him; guiding him – a true gentleman.

Elektra‘s over there, playing Princesses & Fairies with Izabella and Anastasia. These three have just sprinkled their happy dust and are flying in sparkles.

A smiling Thomas is running around, a great observer. He pauses as Steve bounds in. He needs no introduction, his laughter can be heard a mile off.

Marlon loves role-play. He’s over there pretending to be a tiger. He’s a real master of amateur dramatics.. and ever so sweet.

Adam is here too. As he should be. He’s the boss! The place runs better when he’s around.

And, finally, there’s Ilida, who despite being primarily Greek-speaking, will never leave without the most beautiful “bye bye”, to one and all.

These children are supreme. Top of the top.

For the sake of this post, I have tried to find the right words. But, no amount of simple prose, or indeed great literary work, can properly describe these incredible little human beings.

You are the Class of 2015

..and you have rocked our world.

Dream big, little ones. We love you, we’ll miss you, and we thank you.

You have been the greatest teachers to us all.

Now.. let’s get out there. It’s summer o’clock!

Until next time..

  1. you gave me goosebumps and made me feel crazy jealous for missing all of it this year – glad to hear I’m not the only one Adam bosses around however.. ;P
We will be moving on to Hopscotch in September – I am sure Adam’s stint at FC has prepared him amply, as it did Marylou. We will maintain our club membership so we’ll be seeing all of you around! Many many kisses and a big heartfelt thanks!
